Our handmade natural plant based soap company was founded in December 2020.

We are a local small business in the Ottawa area. We specialize in creating small batches of cold processed soaps that are forumulated using only high quality natural oils, butters, and pure essential oils. This allows us to create cleansers with the best therapeutic ingredients and fragrance.

Each bar is packaged eco-friendly so that there will be no negative impact on our environment.

Caring for Your Skin!

The key to maintaining healthy and young looking skin is to avoid the use of harsh chemicals that prevent the skin from breathing naturally.

It's important to establish a daily cleaning routine to prevent your pores from clogging. A deep cleansing of the face once a week opens pores and helps to avoid blemishes and blackheads.

Start with a gentle steam (not too hot!) for 10 minutes, while lightly massaging cleanser into your skin. You can add essential oils like rosemary, rose, basil, grapefruit, jasmine, lavender -- or use one of our handmade products! Finish your routine with a warm damp cloth to wash away your cleanser. A final splash of cold water will close pores, cool your skin and tone your face.

Toning

An important aspect of your facial routine!

To help remove makeup and re-hydrate your skin, applying a toner after your wash can be very helpful! It soothes and refreshes facial skin.

Here is one of my favourite toner recipes:

  • Rose and Lavender Facial Toner
  • 2 oz Rose Flower Hydrosol
  • 1 oz Witch hazel
  • 1 TBSP Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1/2 tsp Vegetable Glycerin
  • 2 drops of Lavender Angustifolia
  • 2 drops of Chamomile Tincture
Place all of the ingredients into a clean 4 oz bottle, and shake to blend them. Before each use, shake the bottle, as the contents will naturally separate.

This toner should last for at least 6 months without refrigeration, and can be used immediately after you wash your face with your cleanser.

Wash off your toner with a hand towel; air dry; and finish off your daily routine with moisturizing oils or creams!

What's in the box?

It's all about self care! Simple, minimal, eco-friendly and economical is our natural vibe!

We take pride in formulating quality products made with a labour of love.

Every ingredient we use has been researched and tested for the best quality.

Cold Processing

Our soaps are the result of a natural chemical reaction called the "saponification" process. This reaction occurs between a sodium hydroxide lye solution and fatty acids in the melted oils. A variety of oils or butters can be used, including those sourced from olives, avocados, coconuts, shea, coco, mangos and many others.

When butters and oils (triglycerides) are mixed with sodium hydroxide, they break down in to their core components including glycerine and fatty acids. The fatty acids combine with hydroxide to create sodium salts - also known as soap!

After we combine our ingredients, we pour our soap batter into molds. It takes approximately 24 hours for this soap batter to saponify and enter a gel phase. Once removed from the soap mold, our products dry for an additional 24 hours before being cut into individual bars of soap.

Cold processed soap differs from industrially made cleansers in that they contain an excess of saturated fatty acids and glycerin which act as moisturizing agents. This allows the lye mixture to be neutralized without any outside sources of heat, which is known as "curing".

This is quite a time-consuming process that allows for gradual saponification. It can take 4-6 weeks for the soap to cure. However, the lack of heat keeps the essential oil intact, and ensures our products will be in perfect condition! Visit our Shop and lather you in therapeutic goodness!

Our Ingredients

Kokum Butter

Kokum butter has a powerful moisturizing property and doesn't clog pores. It is an oil derived from the seeds of a fruit-bearing tree called the kokum tree. Kokum trees - formally known as Garcinia indica - are primarily cultivated in tropical regions of India. The fruit and seeds of the kokum tree are used in a variety of culinary, cosmetic, and medicinal applications.

Kokum butter is frequently used to treat a variety of skin issues including acne, minor inflammatory conditions and dry skin. It helps cell oxygenation, making nutrients more readily available for use by your skin tissues - which also helps to promote hair growth.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a natural substance with emollient. It has nourishing and moisturizing properties and is safe for all skin types. Shea butter is fat that's been extracted from the nuts of the shea tree. It's solid at warm temperatures and has an off-white or ivory color.

Shea trees are native to West Africa, where most shea butter still comes from. Shea butter has been used as a cosmetic ingredient for centuries. Its high concentration of vitamins, fatty acids and easy-to-spread consistency make it a great product for smoothing, soothing, and conditioning dry skin and damaged hair.

This precious butter is also good for soothing burns, hydrating scars, protecting lips from chapping. It is filled with Vitamins A and E along with essential fatty acids which help increase shine and reduce the frizz of your hair. It may also help protect hair from heat damage caused by flat irons and blow drying.

Mango Butter

Mango butter comes from a tropical fruit tree (the Mangifera) native to South Asia, though the trees are cultivated in a number of locations for their fruits, including India, China, Brazil, and Mexico. Mango seed can be formed into a powder, oil, or butter, depending on how it's processed. Typically, the butter is cold-pressed from the seeds, and is said to be similar to cocoa and shea butters.

Mango butter contains high levels of antioxidants, oleic acid, essential fatty acids and beneficial vitamins A, C, and E. Just 1 cup of mango can provide you with 80% of your daily vitamin C intake and 25% of vitamin A. It has been proven that vitamins A and C have a direct influence on hair growth, making this ingredient a very important contributor to healthy hair, moisturization, and the tightening / firming of skin.

Excellent for dry skin for dry patches, flakiness, and even sensitive skin can benefit from daily application of mango butter, which goes to work deeply moisturizing. Oh, and don't forget your lips - mango butter works great as a lip balm.

Cocoa Butter

As might be expected due to its name, cocoa butter does share a relationship with cocoa / chocolate. The technical name of cocoa butter is Theobroma oil, and it's extracted from the cocoa bean.

First, cocoa beans are fermented - then dried, roasted, and pressed to make Theobroma. As well as being used in the production of chocolate, cocoa butter is used in body care products including lip balms, hair masks, and treatment creams. It's a rich moisturizer: cocoa butter is high in fatty acids and hydrates the skin deeply, making it a wonderful addition to body moisturizers and lip balms. It contains oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids, all of which nourish the skin.

Avocado Butter

Avocado butter comes to us from the fruit of the Avocado tree (Persea Gratissima) which grows in sub-tropical regions throughout the world. The avocado butter is created from avocado fruit oil through a unique hydrogenation process which yields a soft, yellow butter.

Avocados play an important role in plant-based diets. They're also a key ingredient in organic cosmetics, thanks to their hydrating and skin-evening properties. Avocados act as humectants, drawing water into the skin for a plump appearance, while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. Their high content of vitamin E helps protect skin from damage caused by sun, smoke, and pollution.

One of the creamiest, richest by-products of the fruit Avacado butter works as a natural sunscreen, helps to control frizz and will leave your hair shiny, soft, untangled and rehydrated.

Cupuacu Butter

Naturally cultivated in the jungles of Colombia, Bolvia and Peru. The pulp of the Cupuacu fruit is consumed throughout central America, especially in northern states of Brazil. It can even be used to make ice-creams, snack bars and other products.

Is remarkable for water absorption; is rich in sterols; and possesses a softer, creamier consistency than cocoa butter. It offers exceptional moisturization for the skin and hair. The high level of essential fatty acids and phytosterols within cupuacu butter gives it the ability to restore elasticity to the skin and treat skin conditions including eczema and dermatitis.

Cupuacu Butter is an effective ingredient for use in hair care products intended to add shine and replenish the moisture in hair. A great ingredient for dry, brittle or damaged hair!
